At long last, Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia is back in the new trailer for Netflix's second season of The Witcher. As previously reported, the long-awaited follow-up to the extremely popular first instalment of the fantasy series is due to arrive on the streamer on December 17.

Our first extended look at the upcoming episodes comes following various micro-teasers, and sees the return of everyone's favourite demon hunter alongside Freya Allan's Ciri, Anya Chalotra's Yennefer and Joey Batey's beloved Jaskier the Bard.

As per Variety, Season 2's synopsis is as follows:

Convinced that Yennefer of Vengerberg died during the Battle of Sodden, Geralt takes Ciri to Kaer Morhen, his childhood home and training ground for Witchers, in order to hone Ciri's mysterious powers.

By the sound of it, things are about to get very epic in Season 2, and by the looks of the trailer — inexplicably soundtracked by Kanye West's "Monster" — we're getting another heavy dose of a brooding Cavill.
