Frank Hvam and Casper Christiansen Return with 'Klown Forever'

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 28, 2015

Danish comedy duo Frank Hvam and Casper Christiansen have already achieved the coveted six seasons and a movie for their bafflingly offensive cringe comedy Klovn (released in North America as Klown). Since we can't get enough of their misadventures, we're happy to report that the pair have re-teamed for a second film.

The sequel to their 2010 film is called Klown Forever, and it opened in Denmark last week. Fortunately, North American audiences won't have to wait long for the film, as Indiewire reports that Drafthouse Films have secured it for a North American run in 2016. The roll-out will include both theatrical and VOD release.

Klown Forever sees Casper leave Denmark to make it big in Los Angeles. Rather than let him go easy, Frank follows him to America in an effort to win him back. Like the rest of the show, the sequel has been described as a cross between Curb Your Enthusiasm and the work of Lars Von Trier (who appeared in the Klovn TV series). Drafthouse calls it "a depraved comedy of errors."

In addition to the show's original cast, Klown Forever features cameos from Isla Fisher and Adam Levine, among others.
