Fox Just Hired an Executive Named Lisa Simpson

There's no denying that one's last name can play some role in whether or not they get a job, and while we don't know what's going on in the HR departments of the world's biggest media corporations, we're certainly noticing a pattern. After Nintendo hired its new boss in one Doug Bowser earlier this year, Fox has gone ahead and hired Lisa Simpson.

No, this is not some sort of marketing move to keep us focused on Matt Groening's long-running cartoon family. It's literally just the name of the company's new senior vice-president of talent relations.

Lisa Simpson previously worked as an executive director of special projects for Entertainment Weekly, InStyle and People. She also developed Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con presence and worked on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"We are committed to the creative community, and to building a meaningful home for them," the company's Jean Guerin in a statement. "Lisa's knowledge of and experience in this business makes her the perfect person to help us convey those messages. As we continue to elevate the talent experience here at Fox Entertainment, I'm so pleased to have Lisa join the team."

No word yet on whether or not Lisa has any siblings or, perhaps, a life partner named Milhouse.
