Flight of the Conchords Postpone Live Shows Due to Bret McKenzie's Broken Hand

Flight of the Conchords were in the midst of a UK tour, but the joke-folk duo have been temporarily grounded due to an injury.

Bret McKenzie revealed yesterday (March 18) that he had broken two bones in his hand, and was informed by doctors that he would be unable to perform for several weeks.

He also made sure to note that he obtained the injury "in a very rock 'n' roll" way — by falling down the stairs.

"I'm sorry not to be able to do these upcoming shows but I'm looking forward to coming back and finishing the tour when I have two fully functioning hands," McKenzie added.

As a result of the injury, the duo's upcoming UK shows have been postponed. Ticket holders will be contacted with rescheduling information, and you can see the band's full message here.

Flight of the Conchords' recently confirmed HBO special was slated to be filmed during the current run of UK live dates and broadcast in May. It's currently unclear if that particular project has been affected.
