Actor Oscar Isaac and director Alex Garland proved to be a dynamic duo with last year's excellent Ex Machina. Fortunately, the pair will soon join forces again for a new sci-fi thriller.
As The Tracking Board reports, Isaac has come on board Annihilation, Garland's forthcoming adaptation of the first novel from Jeff VanderMeer's Southern Reach series.
In addition to Isaac, Annihilation will star Natalia Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez and Tessa Thompson.
Portman stars as a biologist who is trying to understand why her husband went missing. She volunteers for a government expedition into an environmental disaster zone where she discovers a dark force.
Annihilation is being produced by Scott Rudin and will shoot in London later this year.
