Ed Sheeran and Lin-Manuel Miranda Might Be in the New 'Star Wars' Movie

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Nov 25, 2019

Ed Sheeran and Lin-Manuel Miranda could be appearing in the upcoming Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

A new promo video for the movie features tons of behind-the-scenes footage from the franchise, including clips of Sheeran in a Stormtrooper suit and Miranda in a Resistance uniform.

A Disney representative did not confirm that either one would actually appear in the upcoming film, telling Entertainment Weekly that the promo consisted of footage from "fan events over the years."

Nevertheless, rumours of Sheeran making a cameo as a Stormtrooper have been circulating since last year, and Miranda is caught on film with Naomi Ackie, who only makes her Star Wars debut in The Rise of Skywalker — leading us to believe that both cameos are from the upcoming film.

Here's hoping they don't end up on the cutting room floor. Or that they do, depending on what you thought of Sheeran's guest appearance on Game of Thrones.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theatres on December 20.
