Don't Worry, Dennis Will Be Back on 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia'

Season 12 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia ended with a sense of uncertainty when (minor spoiler alert) Dennis left Paddy's Pub to go raise his long-lost son in North Dakota. The uncharacteristic decision seemed to be tied with the news that Glenn Howerton was not planning to return to the show. Fortunately, it looks as if he's changed his mind.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly about his new NBC show A.P. Bio, Howerton explained that he has not ditched the Always Sunny gang.

"I would like to dispel any rumours that I left It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia to do A.P. Bio," he said. "They are two completely different projects."

"We're currently discussing what we want to do next season, but we haven't started the writers' room yet," he continued. "So I haven't left It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The conversation really should be about what's going to happen with Dennis, not what's going to happen with me, and that's something we don't have an answer to yet."

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia will return this fall.
