We've spent the last year getting our hopes up about Denis Villeneuve's long-awaited, Ryan Gosling-starring Blade Runner sequel, and now the project finally has a release date.
Unfortunately, we're in for a long-ass wait, as the film won't land until January 12, 2018.
Rather than a reboot, Villeneuve's Blade Runner is a direct sequel to the original. It was written by Michael Green and original Blade Runner co-writer Hampton Fancher, based on a story from Fancher and Ridley Scott.
Along with the Gos, the new Blade Runner film will also see the return of Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard.
