Please call it '007 Hours'

Having already tried his hand at a sequel with last year's T2: Trainspotting, director Danny Boyle will step into a much larger franchise (and one that includes decidedly less heroin). That's right, Boyle is set to take on James Bond.

The director also known for Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours has confirmed that he'll direct Daniel Craig in the next big outing for 007. Boyle confirmed the news to Metro UK.

"We've got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment," Boyle said. "And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away."

Assuming the screenplay is whipped up in time, Boyle is expected to start production on the film by year's end. The next Bond film already has a release date of November 8, 2019, so time is of the essence.
