Colin Trevorrow Channels '90s Family Drama in the Trailer for 'The Book of Henry'

With films like Jurassic World and the forthcoming Star Wars: Episode IX, Colin Trevorrow has proven he knows his way around big-budget blockbusters. Between those massive undertakings, however, he's returning with another family drama.

Based on its first trailer, The Book of Henry appears to share some of the quirks with Trevorrow's solid debut Safety Not Guaranteed. That said, there's something far more sinister about this one.

The film stars Naomi Watts, Sarah Silverman, Jacob Tremblay, Jaeden Lieberher, Maddie Ziegler and Dean Norris. At first, it looks like a tale about a boy genius but as the trailer unfolds we learn that something terrible is happening next door.

From its poster to its aesthetic, The Book of Henry carries the look and feel of a '90s family dramedy. As such, the film looks promising, if a little overly earnest.
