Chris Rock and Will Smith Have Reportedly Squashed Their Oscars Beef Already

The two patched things up at an after-party, according to Sean "Diddy" Combs

After exchanging a very heated onstage moment at last night's Academy Awards, Chris Rock and Will Smith have reportedly worked out their differences.

In case you somehow missed it, Smith slapped Rock on live television after he made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith's shaved head. (Pinkett-Smith reportedly suffers from alopecia.) After the slap, Smith returned to his seat and shouted, "Keep my wife's name out of your fucking mouth!" Things got awkward. Smith later won the Best Actor award for his role in King Richard, apologizing during his acceptance speech to the Academy and the other nominees, but not to Rock.

As per Page Six, Smith was seen dancing with his Oscar at a Vanity Fair after-party, seemingly unfazed. Sean "Diddy" Combs confirmed to the publication that he and Rock have worked out their differences, saying, "That's not a problem. That's over. I can confirm that," adding, "It's all love. They're brothers."

UPDATE (3/28, 6:16 p.m. ET): a conflicting report from TMZ notes that the two gentlemen have not spoken since the slapping incident, as Rock disappeared directly into his dressing room afterwards, feeling "shaken and bewildered."

TMZ's report also notes that Rock was apparently unaware of Pinkett-Smith's health condition — meaning it's possible he didn't understand the weight of the insult during the broadcast.

The LAPD reported that Rock declined to file a police report following the incident.
