The longest-running queer film festival in the country, Calgary's Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival, returns in person this year for its 24th edition — and is still available to attend online too.

Presented by the Calgary Queer Arts Society, the 10-day event will showcase 45 films, including documentaries, features, shorts and animation. It takes place from June 3 to 12 at the Globe Cinema, while streaming simultaneously on Xerb.tv.

Five uniquely curated evenings (June 6 to 10) will immerse audiences on another tier, getting books, beverages, music and more involved in the movie magic. Programmers promise it'll be a theatre experience like no other.

Other highlights of this year's programming include augmented reality, as well as screenings of Two-Spirit, non-binary Mi'kmaq filmmaker Bretten Hannam's acclaimed Wildhood, Cine Sinclaire's erotic Nuit Raunch and Michiel Thomas's Gemmel & Tim — showing on the last day of the festival and the sixth anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub massacre in Orlando, FL.

Tickets are on sale now via Showpass, ranging in price from $10.99 for a single ticket to $129.99 for a full festival pass.
