Cabaret Voltaire Society & Diversions has announced the 2022 edition of its Hexennacht festival — titled Hexennacht 2022: Nothingness // Pure Consciousness, the two day multimedia festival is a celebration of femme experimental art and music.

The fest defines femme as "female, trans women, non-binary and genderqueer individuals that are on the femme spectrum," and features work by creators from across Europe, Canada, South America and the United States, all informed and inspired by the element of air.

Held in Victoria, BC, Hexennacht 2022 runs July 22-23 and is a free, sliding scale hybrid festival featuring online and in-person experiences. The fest is described as a "festival of creative magick" and "a celebration of femme cis women, non-binary and trans people creating with wild abandon."

Both days of the festival begin at noon with an experimental film live stream and interdisciplinary lecture, followed by in-person events. Also included this year is Hex App, which "contains field recordings and soundscapes from all over the map" and can be downloaded for free anywhere in the world.

Performers featured at this year's festival include Christine White, Elspeth Anne, Mikako Kura, Proje Difüzyon, Soma Morse, Lamedh and many more. Dr. Hélène Caze will also present a gust lecture titled "Women in the Night : mirrors, smoke, fires, joys and pride," while Green Muse Herbs will host a workshop on working with plants as creative muses.
