Last month, a first trailer for the "definitive" Brian Wilson documentary Long Promised Road was partially soundtracked by a collaboration between the Beach Boy and My Morning Jacket's Jim James titled "Right Where I Belong," and the song has now arrived in its entirety.

"Right Where I Belong" finds Wilson in lyrical reflection about songwriting in his teenage years, while James lends help with harmonies and some high notes in the chorus. You can hear the two team up below.

"In my heart and soul, Brian Wilson's music has always held a place of such divine importance," James shared in a statement. "It has always been there with me in celebrating life's greatest triumphs and has also sustained me through some of my darkest hours. His spirit and life story have taught us all to never give up and to always listen to and honour the spirit of each of our own unique creative souls. So it was truly such an honour to create and collaborate with Brian on brand new music for this incredible upcoming film about his life."

"Right Where I Belong" arrives on the heels of Wilson's new solo album At My Piano, on which he reimagines Beach Boys songs for solo piano. James and his My Morning Jacket bandmates released their ninth studio album in October.

Directed by Brent Wilson (no relation), Brian Wilson: Long Promised Road is now in theatres and on VOD services.
