With the Breaking Bad movie coming up fast, questions have been swirling now more than ever about the true fate of the beloved Bryan Cranston character Walter White. Now series creator Vince Gilligan has finally settled all the debate once and for all — Walter White is dead.

Gilligan made the reveal while on The Rich Eisen Show to promote El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, and he did so rather bluntly.

"Yeah, I'm gonna give you that one, Rich, because I love you so much," Gilligan said. "Yes, Walter White is dead. Yes."

So to repeat, Walter White is indeed dead, and he's been dead ever since the final episode of Breaking Bad.

To refresh your memory, you can revisit his final scene down below from the show's finale. Also below, you will find Gilligan's full interview with The Rich Eisen Show.

Despite Walter White being no more, however, there is a possibility Cranston could appear again alongside Aaron Paul in El Camino. After all, there are always flashbacks.

To see, you'll have to wait until Friday (October 11), when El Camino hits both Netlfix and theatres.
