Adventure Time is coming back — sort of. HBO has just ordered 10 half-hour episodes of a spinoff about Finn and Jake's gender-swapped human and cat cartoon hero counterparts, Fionna & Cake.
According to Variety, the pair will embark on a "multiverse-hopping adventure and journey of self-discovery" with the help of former Ice King, Simon Petrikov.
So far, we've yet to get any information about a firm release schedule or any of the series' starring voice actors, though it's fair to guess that Madeleine Martin and Roz Ryan are in talks to return.
Adam Muto will return to executive produce the series for Cartoon Network Studios.
