It's been two long years since True Blood left television, but fans of the erotic vampire drama will finally have something to live for again. After all, the show is being adapted into a Broadway musical.

As the New York Post reports, the theatrical take on the vampire show is being workshopped with director Pam MacKinnon. It's being written by author Elizabeth Scott, and will feature music composed by the television show's own Nathan Barr.

True Blood creator Alan Ball doesn't have a direct role in the project, though it's said that he's overseeing the whole thing. Like the series, the musical will be set in Bon Temps, Louisiana.

Stay tuned for more on True Blood: The Musical as it becomes available.
