News of Party Down's return first surfaced back in March of this year, and now we've got confirmation — the beloved comedy series is officially returning for a six-episode third season, which will begin filming in January.

And along with that info comes the news that every main cast member will be returning but one — Lizzy Caplan. The actress played Casey Klein in the show's first two seasons, but won't be joining Season 3 due to scheduling conflicts. It's unclear at the moment how the show will explain Caplan's absence, but we'll all just have to wait and see.

Jane Lynch, Adam Scott, Ken Marino, Megan Mullally, Martin Starr and Ryan Hansen will all reprise their roles. Along with most of the original cast, series creators Rob Thomas (not that one), John Enbom, Paul Rudd and Dan Etheridge are also returning.

About the announcement, Starz President and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch said:

After more than 10 years, we're excited to have the cast — many of whom are now hugely popular, award-winning stars — return to don their pink bowties and head back to the party. The fan demand for a Party Down revival is clear, and we look forward to what Rob, Paul, John, Dan and now Adam will do as they bring this special project and these hilarious characters back to life.

Party Down first premiered on Starz in 2009, with its second season airing in 2010, after which it was cancelled due to low ratings.
