Why I Oughta: The Creator of 'Deuce Bigalow' Is Rebooting 'The Three Stooges' with Tweens

For some overgrown manbabies who make funny noises and constantly beat the shit out of each other, there's something strangely sacred about the Three Stooges. That's likely why the Farrelly brothers' 2012 reboot of the franchise didn't exactly work. Rather than let the comedy icons' work stand on its own, however, executives are moving forward with an even worse idea for a reboot.

C3 Entertainment is the company that owns The Three Stooges property, and they've decided to green light an upcoming tween version of the comedy with The Three Little Stooges.

Yes, the new Three Stooges reboot will star 12-year-old versions of Moe, Larry and Curly, and it won't be an origin story but instead a family-friendly comedy show.

To write the project, C3 enlisted a heavy hitter in Harris Goldberg, who is best known for writing Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. Goldberg will also direct the project.

The Three Little Stooges will shoot in Vancouver this summer. A talent search is currently underway to case its three tween stars.

Thanks to Deadline for the tip.
