"Weird Al" Announces the Return of the "Mandatory World Tour"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 23, 2016

While "Weird Al" Yankovic has a new voice acting gig with Disney and was just named the new band leader for Scott Aukerman's Comedy Bang Bang, the beloved musical parodist still lives for the road. The comical genius will be bringing an arsenal of hilarious hits across countless stages this summer for the return of the "Mandatory World Tour."

The trip follows last year's trek in support of Yankovic's 2014 full-length, Mandatory Fun. Yankovic and his band kick off the tour in Florida and primarily jump around the U.S. until a September finale at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

They've also managed to sneak a few Canadian dates into the mix, with Yankovic and co. heading up north for shows in Regina, Winnipeg and Thunder Bay.

You'll find the full details for the 2016 "Mandatory World Tour" down below.

In a statement, Yankovic had this to say about the tour: "I've decided to do the 'Mandatory World Tour' for one more year, after learning that some people didn't make it out to the show this last time around. Apparently, they don't know the meaning of the word 'mandatory'!!"
