Seth Rogen Mocks Kathie Lee Gifford on Live Television over the Meaning of "Escrow"

Today marks the arrival of Neighbors 2, the sequel to Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne and Zac Efron's ridiculously successful frat bro comedy from 2014. The new film hinges on the concept of Rogen and Byrne's recently sold home being "in escrow," but don't be upset if you're not familiar with the real estate term. After all, neither is Kathie Lee Gifford.

Earlier today, Rogen and Byrne appeared on The Today Show to promote the film. When they were describing their characters' home as being "in escrow," Gifford said, "That's only a California thing, isn't it?"

While her co-host Hoda Kotb attempted to correct her, Gifford was insistent that she had never heard of "escrow" in her life. This caused Rogen to burst into his inimitable laughter as he roasted Gifford for not knowing about escrow.

Later in the interview, Rogen brought it up again, accusing Gifford of not reading her paperwork. Visibly and admittedly angry, Gifford insisted, "Of all the real estate deals I've done over the past 40 years, not once was the word escrow used!"

Watch the most hilarious possible banter surrounding the word "escrow" below.
