Ricky Gervais is kinda the (atheist) patron saint of try-hard offensive jokes, and according to a new interview, his upcoming show Armageddon is gonna double down on his particular brand of status quo-confirmation comedy.

In a new interview with Heat magazine, Gervais says he's treating his new show "like it's my last one ever."

"It won't be, but I want to put everything into it. I want to try and get cancelled," he said, before clarifying that he's probably joking. "No, I just want to go all-out there."

He described the show as being about "the end of the world and how we're going to destroy ourselves for lots of reasons, whether it's media stupidity, or the actual end of the world." In other words, Don't Look Up Live.

The third and final season of Gervais' show After Life premiered on January 14 of this year.

Gervais was scheduled to perform at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena back in December, but the show was cancelled due to rising pandemic numbers
