Pete Davidson on Ariana Grande Breakup: "I've Been Covering a Bunch of Tattoos"

Pete Davidson has broken his silence over his breakup with Ariana Grande.

Appearing at a Swing Left benefit on Saturday night (October 20), the SNL comedian alluded to his breakup during a standup set.

He followed sets from Judd Apatow and Tig Notaro, as well as a performance of "American Girl" by Tom Petty's bandmate Benmont Tench, opening by saying, "Who the fuck wants to follow that? Am I not going through enough that I have to fucking follow that?"

Davidson repeatedly mentioned the breakup, cracking lines like, "As you can tell, I don't want to be here. There's a lot going on."

He also (sort of) joked about needing a new place to live, asking the audience, "Anybody have any open rooms? Anybody looking for a roommate?"

Davidson even addressed the series of tattoos he'd got since meeting Grande, including matching cloud tattoos on their fingers, matching "reborn" and "H2GKMO" text on their thumbs, a Dangerous Woman-era bunny mask on his neck and a portrait of their shared pet pig, Piggy Smallz.

"I've been covering a bunch of tattoos, that's fun," he said during his set. "I'm fucking 0-for-2 in the tattoo department. Yeah, I'm afraid to get my mom tattooed on me because she'd leave."

Well, if it's any consolation, Grande got Davidson's name on her finger and his late father's New York City Fire Department badge number on her ankle.

The couple broke up last week, following the announcement of their engagement earlier this year.
