Sandler himself took to Twitter yesterday (February 13) to lament the fact that he didn't get any Oscar nods, but seemed happy enough that he could stop dressing up in fancy suits. He also took the time to congratulate his friends who did get nominations — including Bates, who earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in Richard Jewell.
Sandler endearingly called Bates "Mama," referencing her gig as Bobby Boucher's mother in The Waterboy.
Bates responded, saying, "I love you my Bobby Boucher!!! You was robbed!!!" She also called Sandler the "GOAT."
