Look, we know what you're trying to tell yourself. You've got a New Year's resolution. You're going to stop vegging out, laying around and streaming hours upon hours of content. And while we think your intentions are pure, we both know it's not gonna happen. Fortunately, when you come crawling back to your television set in January, there's plenty of stuff to stream on Netflix Canada.

Perhaps most exciting is the launch of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. The eight-episode adaptation stars Neil Patrick Harris, and will hit the service on January 13.

There are plenty of other new series hitting the service as well. One Day at a Time launches on January 6, Historia De Un Clan arrives on January 13, The Investigator: A British Crime Story lands on January 13 and Riverdale will deliver weekly episodes to Netflix starting on January 27.

If you've yet to watch Netflix's reboot of the Japanese reality show Terrace House, do it immediately. It's one of the most strange and addictive shows to ever land on the service. It'll be spun off once again with the Hawaii-set Terrace House: Aloha State, hitting Netflix on January 24.

There are also four original Netflix movies set to arrive in January. Coin Heist lands on January 6, Clinical arrives on January 13, Take the 10 lands on January 20 and iBoy arrives on January 27.

Further, comedy specials are on deck from Jen Kirkman (January 3), Jim Gaffigan (January 10), Neal Brennan (January 17), Cristela Alonzo (January 24) and Gad Elmaleh (January 24).

Other films hitting the service include American Sniper (January 1), Rosewater (January 1), Jupiter Ascending (January 5), Big Hero 6 (January 7), Focus (January 10), Alice Through the Looking Glass (January 11), Aquarius (January 13) and Captain America: The First Avenger (January 25).

You also better hurry up and watch all five seasons of Friday Night Lights if you haven't yet — the beloved television show leaves Netflix on January 1. As for movies, Texas ChainsawThe Social Network and The Usual Suspects are all disappearing on January 1. Zero Dark Thirty goes dark on January 4, and Superbad disappears on January 29.
