Dan Mangan

Live on 'Comedy Bang Bang'

BY Daniel SylvesterPublished Oct 4, 2011

Since debuting on L.A.'s now-defunct Indie 103 station in 2009, Comedy Bang Bang has become one of iTunes' most downloaded humour podcasts. Hosted by Scott Aukerman (Mr. Show, Between Two Ferns), the hour-something-long program has boasted a who's who of alternative comedy, such as David Cross, Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis and even "Weird Al" Yankovic. Peculiarly, you can add Dan Mangan to that list, as the Vancouver singer-songwriter appears on this week's episode alongside guests Sarah Silverman and Nick Kroll.

As Aukerman typically plays comedy songs throughout each program(the Lonely Island, Tim & Eric, and Bruce McCulloch are some of his favourites), the last three episodes have featured in-studio performances from Yo La Tengo, the Bangles and Matthew Sweet.

Listen here or here as Mangan plays material from his latest album, Oh Fortune, and trades some pretty funny banter with host and Mangan fan Aukerman (spoiler: Sarah Silverman also admits to being a big fan).

You can catch the celeb-hobnobbing Dan Mangan while he tours North America. You can see all the dates here.
