The big screen is about to get "A Little Bit Alexis": Canada's sweetheart Annie Murphy is reuniting with Schitt's Creek writers Rupinder Gill and David West Read to star in and executive produce a new film.

According to Deadline, the edgy comedy — titled Witness Protection — centres around a woman who has always defined herself in light of her romantic relationships. When she's forced to enter the witness protection program, she has to come to terms with discovering who she really is — all while maintaining her cover and staying safe from the criminals trying to track her down.

Although further information remains scarce, it certainly sounds like a promising opportunity for Murphy to showcase her comedic talents (and play dress-up!)

Not that the Ottawa-born Emmy-winner hasn't been keeping busy; she's been starring in AMC's subversive sitcom Kevin Can F*** Himselfas well as Season 2 of Natasha Lyonne's hit Netflix show, Russian Doll.

Earlier this month, Dan and Eugene Levy announced Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt's Creek, a book they're publishing about the making of the beloved series. Murphy's onscreen brother will also voice a ghost in a new animated series he's co-writing for Hulu.
