Vancouver roots rockers (and onetime PEAK Performance Project winners) Good for Grapes are going to show us The Ropes on their new album when it lands on October 2 through Pheromone Records. In the meantime, Exclaim! has the premiere of the album cut "Waiting on a Ghost."
The song charges along with a floorboard-stomping gallop that shifts between countrified fiddle and electrified blues rock licks. During the choruses, the dreamily layered vocal harmonies tap into a tuneful baroque pop sound.
Hear the song below. The Ropes was produced by Howard Redekopp (Tegan and Sara, Mother Mother, the New Pornographers) at the Warehouse in Vancouver.
