Edwyn Collins Returns with First New Track Since Debilitating Stroke, Sets Aim on New Studio Album

Edwyn Collins is a Glaswegian musical icon, and as the former singer of Orange Juice, has had a direct influence on more than a few Scottish bands, including such A-listers as Belle and Sebastian and Franz Ferdinand. In the past five years, however, Collins has had difficulty enjoying his legacy due a debilitating stroke suffered in 2005, which nearly killed the 50-year-old. Timber Timbre Plots North American and European Tour

Timber Timbre (aka Toronto songwriter Taylor Kirk) spent 2009 bumming everyone out with his depressing, but beautiful, self-titled album, earning himself a widespread following and scoring No. 4 on Exclaim!'s list of the best roots albums of the year. In 2010, Kirk is looking to keep that momentum going and will be embarking upon a North American tour that includes numerous Canadian dates. (More after the jump.)...

Update: Men At Work’s Colin Hay Calls “Down Under” Ruling Nothing But “Opportunistic Greed”

As we recently reported, Men at Work have lost a lawsuit in which they were accused of plagiarizing the children’s song “Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree” in their hit “Down Under.” One of the first to call bullshit was Death Cab for Cutie’s Chris Walla, who tweeted that “The Men at Work plagiarism verdict is garbage, they got robbed.” Now, former Man at Work Colin Hay is calling it something similar. DJ Rob Swift Remembers Fellow X-Ecutioner Roc Raida on New Album
