"Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" (Beatles cover)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 14, 2014

As previously reported, Austin's Zorch are but one of innumerable acts attached to the Flaming Lips' full-album take on the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, With a Little Help from My Fwends. While they'll officially figure on "Good Morning Good Morning," the act have now revealed an axed take on the record's reprise.

Segueing out of "Good Morning Good Morning," the track hits big with drummer Shmu's (a.k.a. Sam Chown) wacked-out fills collapsing across his kit and a choir of chopped-up vocals. Adding extra touches to the track are Rich Aucoin, AU's Holland Andrews, Ben Aqua, Marriages' Emma Ruth Rundle, and Karla Manzur.

Apparently, Coyne asked Tegan and Sara, Foxygen and My Morning Jacket to cover the same song.

You can check out the outtake down below, while the Lips' final version with Foxygen and MGMT will be delivered, along with the rest of the tributary set, October 28 through Warner Bros. You'll also find Zorch's upcoming tour schedule below.
