The latest single from Zola Jesus' album Taiga is "Hunger," and with a new mix of that track due out on February 10, we can now hear the B-side, "Compass."
The track pairs stately piano chords with powerful belting, while pounding percussion swells in and out and shifts the arrangement between soaring crescendos and restrained comedowns.
Project leader Nika Roza Danilova said in a statement, "'Compass' feels triumphant because in a sense it is — it's the freedom of giving up control and letting yourself live without giving too much thought to it."
