Zex Announce 'Fight for Yourself' Album, Premiere New Video

It's rare that a band comes out as fully formed as Ottawa's Zex, but the new group (which features former members of Germ Attak, Iron Dogs, Slumlord and many others) have done just that. Blending classic metal and fist-pumping punk, they're gearing up to release their debut LP less than a year after forming.

The 10-track album is called Fight for Yourself. It features the previously released "Savage City," as well as the ripping title track, a timeless punk anthem with speedy delivery. You can check the latter out for yourself via the premiere of a simple yet effective video courtesy of bassist Gab Sex and his Billy Darts production company. In it, the band tear through the track in front of a bleak, blood-red backdrop, making for a semi-apocalyptic feel that works well with the song.

Fight for Yourself will be available on September 30 as a split release between Uncle D Records and Capitalicide.

Zex will also embark on a U.S. tour to support the LP. There are no Canadian dates booked as of yet, but that should change soon. After all, a press release notes that the band "has a roster comprised of former bands that have toured all four corners of the world extensively," adding, "Zex will soon embark on that same path and beyond.
