They're hairy. They sounded hairy (in a good way). No messing around needed, Toronto group Zeus dove headfirst into toe-tapping classic rock on the Kid Snacks Stage at Cameron House's side street. Aside from the thundering riffs, powerhouse drums and instantly likeable bass-lines, Zeus seemed to have a carousel policy with regards to switching instruments.

The fact that each musician was so versatile as well as being talented in all formats made for an impressive show. Simply because classic rock has been done to death, it takes a skilful band to pull it off these days without sounding stale. Zeus were fresh — "hot and fresh," according to the bassist. After witnessing their NXNE set, it's difficult not to agree with him.
