Zao

"Fear Itself"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 10, 2015

If you were scared about the possibility of not getting a hold of Zao's new 7-inch, we have a bit of bad news for you. Though it was officially released today (July 10), the two-song release is already sold out. Fret not, as you can at least stream "Xenophobe" and its b-side, "Fear Itself," online.

While the previously teased "Xenophobe" went straight for the throat, "Fear Itself" slowly slips into madness. First riding a detuned metalcore groove, the song is rife with mosh beats and a menacing, descended and distorted bass line. The song eventually erupts into an end-of-days explosion of off-kilter riffs, from-the-gut bellowing and more.

You can stream both "Fear Itself" and "Xenophobe"down below, and pick them up as a digital download over on Bandcamp.
