Zane Lowe Updates 'Drive' Soundtrack with New Tracks from CHVRCHES, SBTRKT, Jon Hopkins

Somehow both upsetting and intriguing, an upcoming BBC Three airing of Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive has DJ Zane Lowe recasting the Ryan Gosling thriller with a completely different soundtrack than the synth-driven sounds fans of the film have grown accustomed to.

Rather than the blend of Cliff Martinez compositions and the icy modern-day disco tracks from the likes of Chromatics and Desire that filtered into the original score, Radio 1 Rescores: Drive – Curated by Zane Lowe will be loaded with exclusive cuts from a wide variety of different acts. Traversing everything from indie pop to R&B to metalcore, the new score includes previously unheard cuts from Banks, CHVRCHES, SBTRKT, Bring Me the Horizon, Jon Hopkins, Baauer, Foals, ZCC (a.k.a. Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro). Laura Mvula, the 1975, Bastille, Eric Prydz, and the Neighbourhood.

All the songs are apparently new and were written specifically for the project except one.

"Honestly, this is the most exciting thing that this show has ever been involved in," Lowe said in a statement of the project. "It's the most ambitious, awesome thing we've ever done. We've been working on it all year and we're super-proud of it — you don't want to miss this!"

Though the full tracklisting has yet to be made available, a new CHVRCHES song from the project called "Get Away" has gone live. You'll find the track, as well as a trailer for the Radio 1 Rescores version of Drive , down below. The film airs in the UK on October 30.
