Russell Manning previously honed his chops as the live bassist of Twin Shadow, and now he's striking out on his own under the pseudonym Young Midnight. While he has original material on the way, we've got a taste of his solo work via a remix of Zambri's track "Places," off the project's new House of Baasa album.
Young Midnight's redo places spaciously reverbed vocals atop a grooving beat, some tasteful splashes of synth and an awesomely '80s-flavoured synth bassline. All of this makes for an effectively melodic dancefloor experience.
