Published Jan 20, 2014Following the unexpected arrival of Death Grips' freebie mixtape Government Plates last fall, the aggro rap project's skins-hitter Zach Hill has confirmed that the band also have a proper long-player due sometime this year.
Last night (January 29), Hill took to his personal Facebook page to report that the band have just begun work on the next album. Though details are slim, he wrote, "starting to record the new Death Grips album right now."
The act had previously reported that a new LP was being prepped for their own Thirdworlds imprint, though the business model is being realized via a "very unique relationship with Harvest/Capitol, to be distributed by Caroline."
Though a due date for the record has not been given, it's possible the album could arrive sometime around the sunnier calendar months, as Hill also noted that Death Grips "hope to tour alot [sic] this summer."
The same Facebook post also had Hill briefly noting that he still has his short film on the way, and that he would like to make a new record with his Hella project "sooner than later." If made, the record would follow 2011's Tripper, which brought Hella back from a five-piece down to the core duo of Hill and guitarist Spencer Seim.
