Zaac Pick Reveals 'Constellations,' Books Canadian Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 25, 2015

Vancouver singer-songwriter Zaac Pick has released a handful of EPs since 2009, but this spring he will finally make the full-length leap with his debut album. The record is called Constellations, and it will be out on April 14. A Canadian tour is due to take place around the same time.

The album was co-produced with Jonathan Anderson (Aidan Knight, Jordan Klassen). Pick's band members variously live in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Montreal, and the recording sessions were spread across two years and four provinces.

A press release notes that the album consists of "nine heartfelt folk-pop songs," with each of Pick's band members contributing to the arrangements. The drawn-out recording process reportedly meant that "each track had room to ripen into something Zaac says would likely never have emerged in a condensed studio session." The album was partly funded via a successful crowdsourcing campaign.

At the bottom of the page, check out a dramatic, astronaut-themed trailer for the album. It contains a piece of earnest, ambience-filled music.
