Yukon Blonde's Brandon Wolfe Scott Goes Solo for New EP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Dec 2, 2015

Though Brandon Wolfe Scott has been plenty busy playing in Yukon Blonde, he'll be taking a breather from the band early next year to promote his first solo EP. The reportedly country-flavoured The Postcard Writer is being delivered January 15 through Nevado.

It's explained in a press release that the last five years have seen Scott jotting down "notebooks full of playful new-country ditties, purely for fun." This had been done under the nom de plume Dusty Summers, though Scott has now reinterpreted the material to reflect his IRL persona.

He explained in a statement: "I ended up really loving some of the songs. So I decided to salvage them in a way that was more me, you know drop the low country voice that I was putting on and play them more like how I normally would. They were just nice songs, so I reworked the lyrics to make them sound less hokey and more meaningful."

Despite ditching the country music accent, it's further noted that the set is influenced by the records Scott would listen to with his grandfather. Touchstones include Floyd Cramer and Sons of the Pioneers.

Down below, you'll find all of the tracklisting info, as well as the gently plucked and rootsy first single, "Heartless."
