Yukon Blonde

'Tiger Talk' (album stream)

Yukon Blonde put themselves on the map with their 2010 self-titled debut, which earned the Vancouver retro rockers a Polaris Music Prize nomination and spawned a seemingly endless string of tours. Luckily for us, the band took enough time away the road to write and record a new album, Tiger Talk, which is due out on March 20 through Dine Alone Records. Until then, you can stream the whole thing at Exclaim.ca.

The buildup to this album has been an intriguing one, as Yukon Blonde previously told Exclaim! that the record began with some punk-inspired demos that frontman Jeff Innes had been writing in his spare time. The singer promised that the new songs were "a lot faster" than the band's past work with "a lot more harmonies."

The album was recorded at the Hive Creative Labs studio with producer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Dan Mangan). To check out what perky sonic treats the band have cooked up, take a listen below.

Naturally, Yukon Blonde will be promoting Tiger Talk by heading out on yet another massive tour, including shows at the fast-approaching SXSW and many more here in Canada. See the dates here.
