Before starting their late afternoon set, Yukon Blonde revealed to the Riverfest crowd that this was their final live appearance of the summer, having made plans to take time away from the road to write and record a new album. Given how rammed the smaller tent stage area was, it certainly didn't seem like many in the audience were tired of material from last year's On Blonde and before in the least.

Frontman Jeff Innes urged the crowd to dance all night while snarling his way through set highlight "Radio," which featured an extended jam section fixed prominently upon guitarist Brandon Scott and keyboardist Rebecca Gray playing off one another. The vocal harmonies between all five members dazzled during "Wind Blows" and "I Wanna Be Your Man." In closing things out with "Stairway," the band also worked in a quick round of the sing-along chorus from Oasis' "Champagne Supernova."

Teased Innes: "When we have a new record out, it might be as good as some of the other stuff we've released, so maybe you'll have us back."
