Landmark Canadian CGI-animated series ReBoot ended its original run in 2001, but fans were ecstatic to learn that a sequel series titled ReBoot: The Guardian Code was on the way from the Vancouver-based Rainmaker Entertainment. Following a teaser from Corus Entertainment, those feelings may have changed.
A live-action still from the upcoming ReBoot reboot, which you can see above, was shared through social media yesterday (March 28) by YTV. The specialty channel initially aired the show for its original Canadian run from 1994 to 2001.
An obvious difference from the green- and blue-pigmented heroes of the show's heyday, fan reaction online hasn't been the most positive.
It was also revealed that beloved characters from the original series, namely Bob, Dot, Enzo and the villainous Megabyte would play a role in the new series. In 2015, we reported that 26 half-hour episodes were greenlit by Corus Entertainment.

In 2015, The Guardian Code was said to feature a mixture of live action and CGI, with the plot focusing on four teenagers who become guardians in cyberspace. Like in the original show, guardians act as the police of the computer world, fighting viruses and taking care of other sprites.@ytv your re-imagining is like if someone reimagined the cat in the hat as a human with no hat on
