Published Jul 15, 2015Here's hoping the always-busy Young Thug has some extra songs in the vault, because he might be unable to hit the studio for a little while. The 22-year-old Atlanta rapper has been arrested for "terroristic threats" and is currently locked up in a Texas prison.
As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, the rapper born Jeffery Lamar Williams was arrested earlier this morning (July 15) following an outstanding warrant issued by Dunwoody police.
Jim Joyner, a spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, said, "Williams was wanted on an outstanding warrant charging him with terroristic threats stemming from an incident that occurred with the jurisdiction of the Dunwoody police."
As FACT points out, the phrase "terroristic threat" doesn't necessarily mean that Thug was planning to blow up a bridge or join the Taliban. As it's defined, a "terroristic threat" could simply mean he provoked police in order to "cause a reaction of any type."
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
UPDATE: According to TMZ, the arrest stems from an incident last week when Young Thug allegedly threatened to shoot a security guard in the face after being asked to exit a Georgia mall.
