While Young Rival gear up for the October 23 release of Stay Young via Sonic Unyon, the Hamilton, ON-based band have unveiled plans to hit the road for a tour of Ontario and Quebec in the coming months. This announcement coincides with the release of the band's new music video.
The outfit's schedule kicks off next month with a hometown show in Hamilton on November 1. They will play a number of shows in the subsequent weeks before taking a break over Christmas and then resuming the tour in February. We can expect more dates to be announced before long, so it's possible that the band will fill in the big gap in their schedule. See the current itinerary below.
For a taste of the new material that Young Rival will be taking on the road, watch the hi-tech video for the peppy indie rock "Nothing You Know Well" at the bottom of this page. It shows the band performing while being lit up by some nifty 3D projections.
Director Jared Raab explained the clip in a statement, saying, "We cooked up this crazy scheme to create real time projections of 3D environments onto the band using pretty rudimentary equipment. The key was massive grids of 'fiducials,' which are basically little black and white trackers that let the projector know where it is in space."
