For music fans, it's just about the most terrifying scenario imaginable: in the early hours of Thursday (April 5), gunfire rang out at a Young Jeezy concert at Toronto's Sound Academy, where a man was shot three times before being rushed to hospital.

The incident took place around midnight before the headliner even had a chance to take the stage. As the National Post reports, the victim was involved in an altercation with another male before the shooting took place, police say.

The concertgoer was reportedly shot three times in the torso, sending hundreds of fans fleeing the venue.

Naturally, the police arrived on the scene and cleared out the venue, and the show was called off. No arrests have been made, and the name of the victim is still unknown.

The man is said to currently be in "serious but stable" condition at St. Michael's Hospital.

Young Jeezy tweeted, "Backstage @ Sound Academy in Toronto! Police closed venue and cancelled the greatest show!!! I will be back! Next stop London, Ontario!"

He then added, "Can't Ban the snowman. I be back Toronto! #ItsThaWorld."

The rapper will be playing Montreal tomorrow (April 6), so here's hoping that the rest of the tour goes more smoothly than last night,
