Young Galaxy to Cross the Great White North in Support of Invisible Republic

BY Stephen CarlickPublished Sep 16, 2009

Fresh off the release of their sophomore album, Invisible Republic, and three well-received shows in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, Young Galaxy are ready to strike out across the country on a tour of Terry Fox-like proportions.

With Vancouver's Bend Sinister backing the group for almost the entire tour, Young Galaxy will sweep through just about every major Canadian city west of Montreal, including Calgary, Vancouver, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. In fact, the band get things going tonight in Thunder Bay, ON.

Following Young Galaxy's split with Arts & Crafts, Invisible Republic finds the group expanding on the pop grandeur of their self-titled debut while trying to carve a bigger niche for themselves amongst the indie elite in Canada. Now, a big ol' tour can't hurt that, can it?

More dates are expected for November but for now, here are Young Galaxy's confirmed dates:

10/16 Thunder Bay, ON @ Jack's

10/17 Winnipeg, MB @ Pyramid *
