Published Jul 07, 2010Montreal's Young Galaxy are riding high following a long List nomination for this year's instalment of the Polaris Music Prize. With their 2009 album Invisible Republic due to be released in the U.S. on July 27 via Paper Bag Records, the cinematic indie rockers will be hitting the road this year with a cross-Canadian tour, as well as a number of dates in the eastern U.S.
Young Galaxy were handpicked by fellow Montrealers Arcade Fire to open up for the band's show in Boston, and will also be playing a date with Cymbals Eat Guitars in Chicago, plus hitting the road with Stars in the fall.
The U.S. release of Invisible Republic will include two bonus tracks, "Invisible Republic" and "Flux." Canadian audiences can hear these songs on the newly released No Art EP, which also includes a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne." You can pick up the EP from iTunes.
