Young Fresh Fellows I Think This Is

Young Fresh Fellows I Think This Is
In some alternate galaxy where indie rock rules the charts, Young Fresh Fellows would be atop the 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ballot. In the 25 years since their debut, Young Fresh Fellows front-man Scott McCaughey has not only released a handful of classic pre-indie alt-rock but helped form the Minus 5, co-wrote songs with Robyn Hitchcock, Peter Buck, Wilco and Steve Wynn, and has been considered an unofficial member of R.E.M. LP number ten, their first since 2001, the Hitchcock produced I Think This Is, shows McCaughey and company coming off as incredibly youthful and vibrant, covering songs with a milky sheen and dabbing them with a thorny ShamWow! The good times gestate mid-LP, as songs like "Used to Think All Things Would Happen," "Your Mexican Restaurant" and "Shake Your Magazines" create a sunny, mini-paisley suite. Far from essential, I Think This Is shows McCaughey growing old graciously with the alt-rock movement he helped create. (Yep Roc)
