You'll Never Get to Heaven Reveal Debut LP

In the past, London, ON-based musician Chuck Blazevic has delivered skewed, abstract electronic tunes under his own name, but he's recently partnered up with vocalist Alice Hansen as the dark and hazy dub-pop project You'll Never Get to Heaven. The group's self-titled debut disc arrives October 11 through Divorce.

A press release for the album, which will drop digitally and in a limited vinyl pressing of 300 copies, says the set is built around samples plucked from 20th century classical pieces and dub records, and presents "decades' worth of scratches and dirt beautifully processed into flourishes of swirling texture."

While a tracklisting has yet to appear, you can preview the platter via the duo's new video for album track "Drowning Out." Visually, the grainy and blown-out black-and-white clip features some deadpan staring and rug-running, while the song presents murky ambient rhythms and Hansen's hushed and eerily coy coo. You can check it out below.
