Published Sep 01, 2016Kanye West shocked the world with a who's who of nude celebrities in his video for "Famous," but if you're looking to shock your friends and family, you can bring the whole lifelike cast home for a cool $4 million USD.
After being on display at Los Angeles art gallery Blum & Poe last weekend (August 26-28), co-founder Tim Blum told the New York Times that all 12 figures are available "for the right buyer."
"The show and project were not done with price or sale in mind. But I would act upon it as every other piece of art I handle," Blum said.
The price tag itself isn't half as crazy as one might think. The project is estimated to have taken $500,000 to one million dollars to complete, following four months of animation modelling, 3-D scanning, stylist consulting and Instagram searches. Each figure is powered by a nine-volt battery, creating the breathing action that can be seen in the video for the cut from The Life of Pablo.
The Times also reports that a member of West's said that the piece was "on its way to its next location," though it wasn't specified where.
"I have friends who are directors of museums," Blum told the publication. "This is a thing you could see at LACMA [Los Angeles County Museum of Art], MOCA or the Hammer very easily."
